By using door.lease, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
door.lease is a mobile application that helps renters document property conditions at move-in and move-out, generate AI-powered condition reports, file and track maintenance requests with AI photo analysis, and manage security deposit disputes. The app is operated by door.lease ("we," "us," or "our").
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use door.lease. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
You agree to use door.lease only for its intended purpose: documenting rental property conditions and managing deposit-related matters. You agree not to:
You retain ownership of all photos and content you upload to door.lease. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the app's services to you (photo storage, AI analysis, report generation, dispute evidence).
We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use your photos for marketing or advertising without your explicit consent.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to photograph the property and that your photos do not violate any laws or third-party rights.
door.lease uses artificial intelligence to analyze photos and generate condition reports, damage descriptions, and dispute response letters. You acknowledge that:
Some features require a one-time purchase. All prices are displayed in US dollars and are charged at the time of purchase. Payments are processed securely by Apple using In-App Purchase.
Purchases are non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing a purchased feature, contact us at hello@door.lease and we will work to resolve it.
We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect purchases already completed.
Certain features are subject to usage limits based on your plan tier. Maintenance requests are limited to 10 per property for all plan tiers. Usage counts are lifetime totals — deleted or resolved requests still count toward your limit. Dispute letter generation is similarly limited by plan tier. Current limits are displayed in the app before each action.
Your use of door.lease is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the app, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
The door.lease app, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app without our written permission.
We strive to keep door.lease available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.
The app may deliver over-the-air updates that modify functionality without requiring you to download a new version from the App Store.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, door.lease and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of deposits, loss of data, or loss of revenue, arising from your use of the app.
Our total liability for any claim related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for door.lease purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim.
door.lease is a documentation tool, not a legal service. We do not guarantee any outcome in deposit disputes, legal proceedings, or landlord-tenant matters.
door.lease is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that AI analysis will be accurate, or that the app will meet your specific requirements.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless door.lease and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
You may stop using door.lease and delete your account at any time through the app's Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or to us.
Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases. Data deletion follows the timeline described in our Privacy Policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be resolved in the courts located in New York.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
