You own your data in door.lease. This page explains exactly what you can delete, when, and what happens when you do.
door.lease uses a locking system to protect the integrity of your official move-in and move-out records. When a room is unlocked, you have full control. Once a room is locked, its photos and data become part of your legal documentation and cannot be individually deleted — this protects you in a dispute.
While a room is unlocked, you can delete any photo from within the room view in the app. Deleted photos are permanently removed from your account and our servers.
You can delete a property at any time — even after rooms are locked. All photos and media are permanently deleted from our servers immediately. If your property has payment history, anonymized transaction records are retained for financial compliance. All other data including rooms, reports, and dispute records is permanently removed.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Security → Delete Account in the app. All photos are deleted from our servers immediately. All properties, rooms, reports, and personal information are permanently removed. If you have made purchases, anonymized transaction records are retained for financial and legal compliance. Your account name is replaced with "Deleted User" and no personally identifiable information is kept.
If you have generated a move-in or move-out report and shared its link with your landlord, deleting the property will also invalidate that report link. Anyone with the link will no longer be able to view the report. If you are in an active dispute, we recommend keeping your property until the dispute is resolved.
Each photo taken in door.lease stores GPS coordinates as part of the legal record. This location data is tied to individual photos and is deleted when you delete a photo (if unlocked) or delete the property. We do not retain location data independently of your photos.
